浙江中医药大学是浙江省重点建设高校，是浙江省人民政府、国家中医药管理局、教育部共建高校。2022年3月，浙江省人民政府办公厅发文支持学校建设一流中医药大学，实施“八个一流“建设工程。学校坐落于历史文化名城杭州市，现有滨文校区和富春校区。

湘湖实验室于2022年6月启动建设，是浙江省委省政府在农业领域重点布局的新型研发机构，是浙江打造农业科创高地，抢抓农业强国战略机遇的重要举措。实验室主体位于萧山经济技术开发区钱塘江国际创新带，总建筑面积6.7万平方米，一期计划投入30个亿。

实验室聚焦现代生物种业创新和绿色健康高效农业两大研究集群，设立生物技术、生物种业、生物互作、生物制造四个研究院。为加快推进实验室人才队伍建设，实现研究院实体化运行，经实验室主任办公会研究决定，面向全球招聘四大研究院院长。

Research direction

1.生物技术研究院     

主要开展种质资源精准鉴定和深度评价，动植物高产优质、抗病虫、耐逆等重要农艺性状关键基因挖掘，多维度解析基因功能及其互作网络；开展基因编辑和干细胞培养等新技术研究；开展生物光能利用技术研究，解析其调控植物生产发育的关键机制。

2.生物种业研究院      

主要利用高效遗传转化、转基因、远缘分子杂交、体细胞核移植、与胚胎培养等前沿技术，构建重要农艺性状分子模块，利用多模块组装的高效聚合，实现农艺性状精准设计、种质资源定向培育，创制粮油作物、特色蔬果茶、养殖动物、微生物等核心种源。

3.生物互作研究院      

围绕生物互作与生物健康、环境健康、食物健康，开展重要作物病原与害虫的致害机制、作物的抗耐、环境适应机制研究；研究环境胁迫下微生物组与生物健康的响应机制、微生物促生诱抗和驱动免疫反应；研究健康环境生物驱动与调控途径，探索食物营养因子协同作用、量效关系和生理功能等机理。

4.生物制造研究院        

开展新型生物源农药研制、新型高效疫苗和微生态制剂等生物兽药与产品创制、功能微生物组、多功能高效新型生物肥开发、土壤调理剂和有害物阻控降解产品研发;开展特异蛋白、小分子肽等健康因子高效制备、活性保持、靶向缓释等技术研发,营养健康食品创制等。
